the Arlen Ness Custom Bikes

When I went to Laughlin in 2000 I neglected to bring my camera and cash, so I missed out on a lot of great stuff that first time including a brief yapping with West Coast Choppers' Jesse James. So this time around I vowed on taking as many cool bike pics as I could, including the Ness Collection. Sadly the Black Bagger didn't turn out, but the rest are featured in sequence here.

Vintage Ness Bike
This is an early V2 powered Harley with a matching sidecar from the same era, along with a few personal touches a la Arlen.
My "main squeeze" strikes a pose

This was her first motorcycle rally that required out of towning, subsequently by this time the following year she was upgraded from "main" squeeze to "only" squeeze, as we got married shortly before the 02 Run.

In the background you can see the Black Bagger, the pic I snapped of it just didn't turn out for some reason. Too bad as that shot also had the vintage bike nicely positioned in the background.

The Green Machine
This chopper sports all sorts of Ness touches, from the fat forks to the flaired rear fender.
Flamed and Flaired

A much often repeated and occassionally exaggerated theme on the Ness bikes is the sweeping fenders, here's yet another example of them.

The Arlen Ness Firebike

Before Orange County Choppers did their Fireman Bike, before the World Trade Center disaster that inspired the OCC bike, Arlen Ness made his rendition of a Fire Bike. Note the axe and guages, all meticulously airbrushed onto the bodywork.

The Copsicle

Which naturally compliments the Firebike. Note the life-sized airbrushed shotgun slung over the shotgun exhaust.

NesSport

This bike sports some extra raciNess to it, although the heart is still an S&S powered Harley Davidson design.
